How to run a WooCommerce affiliate program with Mobile Money payouts
Links, coupon codes and monthly payouts your partners can receive on their phone.
To run an affiliate program on WooCommerce, install an affiliate plugin, set a commission rate and a refund period, approve your partners, and pay them on a fixed day each month. In Africa, partners expect to be paid by Mobile Money: Fosia Affiliates prepares the monthly payout run, and you, the merchant, pay each affiliate from your own account.
Step 1: choose the commission
Pick a rate your margin can carry (for example 10 to 30% of the price), whether renewals earn a commission, and a refund period: commissions wait for it before they can be paid.
Step 2: install Fosia Affiliates
Buy a licence on the Fosia Affiliates page, upload the plugin and follow the guided setup. It creates a sign-up page and an affiliate dashboard.
Step 3: approve partners and give them tools
Each approved partner gets a link, a short link, a coupon code and a dashboard with share buttons for WhatsApp, Telegram, X and Facebook, and a QR code. Coupon codes credit the partner without any cookie.
Step 4: pay every month by Mobile Money
Once a month the plugin lists every affiliate above your minimum. A second person approves the run, then you pay each line by Mobile Money (or export a CSV and pay another way). A line is never paid twice.
Works with any payment method
Commissions are counted on WooCommerce orders, whatever the payment method: Fosia Pay, cards or any other gateway.
FAQ
Questions
How do I create an affiliate program on WooCommerce?
Install Fosia Affiliates on your WooCommerce shop, set your commission rate and refund period in the guided setup, and share your sign-up page. You approve each partner; each one gets a link, a coupon code and a dashboard. Every month the plugin prepares a payout run, and you pay your affiliates by Mobile Money.
Is this the same as the Fosia affiliate programme?
No. Fosia Affiliates is a plugin you install on your own WooCommerce shop, to run your affiliate programme. If you want to earn by recommending Fosia products, see the Fosia affiliate programme (it runs on this plugin).
Do I need Fosia Pay?
No. Commissions are counted on WooCommerce orders, whatever the payment method: Fosia Pay Lite, Fosia Pay Pro, cards or any other gateway. Fosia Pay Pro is a bonus for payouts: they then go through it and appear in its payout history.
How do I pay my affiliates?
Once a month the plugin prepares a payout run with every affiliate above your minimum. A second person checks it and approves it, then you pay each affiliate by Mobile Money from your own PawaPay merchant account (its payouts key, saved in the plugin) or through Fosia Pay Pro. You can also export the run as a CSV file, pay it another way and mark it as paid. Fosia never holds your money.
